1:00 AM – More traffic on the platform.
Sparrow and Dove. Nothing seems to bother those little Sparrows.

1:00 AM – A Finch, a Cardinal and a Dove walk into a bar… No, wait, I meant a Finch, Cardinal and Dove are hanging out in the platform feeder.
Downy Woodpecker on the nugget feeder. It’s very popular with woodpeckers.
1:00 AM – Several birds on the platform feeder. I like how the Cardinal ignores the squabbling Finches. When the Dove comes, everyone else leaves.
Carolina Wren – he likes compressed bugs, just like everyone else.
1:00 AM – Brown Thrasher manages an underwater meal. Then we have the Chickadee and ever-present Cardinal.
Here’s a Dove and Cardinal sharing the platform feeder. We put the green mesh one up again – the birds seem to prefer it.
1:00 AM – Carolina Wren on the mealworm feeder, plus some kind of noisy bird in the background.
Cardinal and Dove inspecting the empty Blue Bowl.
1:00 AM – White Breasted Nuthatch coming and going.
Cardinal and Dove feeding on scraps under the hanging feeder.
1:00 AM – A Cardinal bathing, interrupted by a thirsty Dove.
Ground Squirrel getting some of the seed.
Male House Finch.
1:00 AM – A Dove drinking and bathing:
We haven’t seen one of these Downy Woodpeckers for a while. Too bad the video is so poor.
1:00 AM – Dove bathing. As he’s getting into the water, he seems to peck at it. No one knows why.
A Squirrel, caught on the Ground Cam, eating peanuts that D generously set out for the critters.
A Dove with Finches in the background on the feeder.
1:00 AM – A Nuthatch and Chickadee on the Squirrel Buster in it’s new location. The Nuthatch is the bird on the right, without the black cap markings covering his eyes.
Most of the traffic at the birdbath these days is Squirrels and Doves. We don’t know where the other birds went, there was a much greater variety last summer. Was it something we said?
We did have a visit from a House Finch on the new Squirrel Buster location. Maybe a Purple Finch. Colors are hard.
