1:00 AM – Here’s an unhappy Carolina Wren attacking the camera. Apparently he was unhappy that the Peanut Bar was empty.
More Wren business. I suspect the second Wren, the one having so much trouble picking up the peanut, is a young one. We’ve see a few small, uncertain Wrens that look like they’re just out on their own for the first time.
We watched video of this Squirrel eating almost all the peanuts we put out.
1:00 AM – Carolina Wren and Mr. Cardinal at the platform feeder:
The birds are getting along better, probably because they know each other – like patrons at a local diner – and know there’s plenty of food to go around.
More of one of the Blue Jays eating. We’re sure seeing a lot of these birds, after a long absence.
1:00 AM – A couple of birds pecking – a Towhee and Carolina Wren. The Wren goes right for the camera for some reason.
Blue Jay rooting around in the seed shells. By the time this video was taken, most of the seeds had been devoured by Cardinals, Doves, Squirrels and other greedy creatures.
1:00 AM – This looks like a young Carolina Wren. He looks very nervous, and alert.
This Red-wing is happy eating peanuts, but pay attention to the background. There’s a cat approaching, I think it’s the big brindle. This time, it has a happy ending – the Red-wing eats some more and flies off. This time.
Plenty of Blue Jays around these days. It’s the peanuts.
