1:00 AM – The compressed bug cylinder is popular with the Carolina Wrens too.
Another video of one of our favorites, the Brown Thrasher. Since we put a platform feeder up, the Thrashers have come out of hiding.
Friday – 11.9.2018
1:00 AM – Cardinal and Brown Thrasher at the Blue Bowl:
Pine Warbler on the cylinder feeder. This is one of the somewhat drab females.
Thursday – 11.8.2018
1:00 AM – Lots of rain yesterday, and the blue bowl feeder doesn’t drain like the other platform feeder we have. So, we had delicious birdseed out of reach, underwater. Here’s a Cardinal who managed to get one seed, but seemed a little miffed about the whole situation.
On the other hand, nothing stops a Brown Thrasher:

1:00 AM – Ground Squirrels. Are they playing or ‘courting’?

1:00 AM – Happy Bruno comes up and down the trail, checking things out.
The Towhees are still around. Here’s a nice specimen, scratching up some seed.
This Brown Thrasher looks a little dilapidated, no doubt due to molting.
