1:00 AM – We don’t see many of these Bluebirds anymore, and that’s too bad.
We has some Brown Headed Cowbirds come through, not the big flock we’ve had in the past, but enough to cause this little jam up on the feeder:
Even more Cowbirds:

Even more Cowbirds:
1:00 AM – Finches and Cowbirds pecking. Sometimes we can’t just all get along.
Lots of birds having lunch:
1:00 AM – Flock of Purple Finches ignoring a Dove. The Finches are very aggressive lately. There’s a Cowbird in there, too.
Hungry Warblers:
1:00 AM – Another video from our recent Cowbird visit:
Dark-eyed Junco and friends.
1:00 AM – Another Blue Jay video. Not sure what this guy is complaining about.
More video on the recent visit by the Cowbirds. Note how busy is the finch sock in the background.
Downy Woodpecker on the nugget feeder:
1:00 AM – Continuing with the Cowbirds, here we have them intimidating a Dove. I’m glad to see the Dove get some of it’s own medicine.
This little Finch isn’t so timid:
1:00 AM – Cowbirds are back this year. Not the swarm we had before, only two or three. Here they are, milling around with Finches and Warblers. Everyone was hungry that day.
Here’s some Finches and Cowbirds. The honeymoon is over, and the squabbling has begun.
3:32 AM – Today is an unscheduled ‘Retro’ presentation. We captured zero interesting videos yesterday, so here’s Retro-Wednesday.
Cedar Waxwings swarming around the feeders (4/1/17). This is the only time they did this, though we’re hoping for a repeat next Spring:
Speaking of swarming – here’s that rowdy flock of Brown Headed Cowbirds (2/3/17). There’s a few Red-wing Blackbirds traveling with them.
12:23 AM – It’s Sunday. That means videos from the past.
From February 2017, a flock of Brown Headed Cowbirds visited for a few days. Here they are, busy at the platform feeder, with background music (original composition called “Skip Rope”).
The Yellow Warblers are Winter visitors. These video were from January, 2017. They’re pretty birds, frequently confused (by me) with the Goldfinch. The bird in the second video is in fact a Pine Warbler.
7:40 AM – There’s not much going on today, just the regulars. For a change of pace, here’s a video experiment. In order, the birds are sparrows, finches and sparrows, Brown Headed Cowbirds and Cedar Waxwings.
Back to normal – just a Red-bellied Woodpecker and a bluebird grazing the mealworm feeder. Notice the woodpecker flying off with a big mouthful of worms.
