1:00 AM – More video of the Cowbird. Supposedly the brown feathers on Crows can be caused by molting. But images of actual Molting Crows don’t look a lot like this one, so in spite of size, it must be a Brown-headed Cowbird. (By the way, there was a punk rock band from the 80’s called the Molting Crows.)
We’ve got lots of these little guys. They run up and down the rail, and hang from the bedroom window panes. Here’s one in slow motion racing through the bird seed:

1:00 AM – More original content from Bolton Lane. We’re still trying to attract traffic to our feeders. Here we caught a Brown-headed Cowbird trying out the menu at the Backyard Foodcourt. At first, n spite of the brown color of the head, we were convinced this is a Crow, not a Brown Headed Cowbird, due to the size and call. However, after getting video a a real Crow, it’s clear that this is a Cowbird.
And of course we still have a Cardinal family in the yard, though here it’s just one family, not three as at Pow Wow.
