1:00 AM – Cardinal on the rail:
Pine Warbler and a Dove:
More Blue Jays on the rail. The peanuts are really bringing them out.

1:00 AM – About 4:30 yesterday afternoon a squirrel knocked one of our RailCams into the flower bed.
That night, about 11:30PM, a curious raccoon found the camera, and checked it out – presumably to see if it was edible.
More action on the RailCam. We have another shot of a Blue Jay chowing down:
Here’s how Raccoons get up on the rail:
Here we see that shot from another angle. That Raccoon was ready for his close-up.
1:00 AM – Some video from the RailCam.
First, a Yellow Warbler. At least, I think that’s what it is. It could be a Goldfinch, according to one expert, but I don’t think so:
Next, a Cardinal. Plenty of those around. This one has the Punk Crest:
Finally, one of the Blue Jays that have returned, now that we have an abundant supply of peanuts available.
1:00 AM – A couple of narrow escapes. That Gray Cat is becoming a real problem for the birds. It pays to stay alert.
1:00 AM – Another Blue Jay video. Not sure what this guy is complaining about.
More video on the recent visit by the Cowbirds. Note how busy is the finch sock in the background.
Downy Woodpecker on the nugget feeder:
1:00 AM – Squirrel gets a drink.
A Carolina Wren at the Squirrel Buster, when it was in it’s old, dark location. Future videos of this feeder should be of better quality, now that it’s been relocated.
Another video of that Blue Jay from a couple of days ago. We don’t see them too much, and don’t see the Bluebirds at all. Maybe it’s the hawk that lives next door.
1:00 AM – Blue Jay on the platform feeder. This will be one of the last videos from the platform. We’re taking it down, and moving the camera to another feeder. It was attracting pests to the deck. So, no more platform.
One more from the platform – a couple of Doves.
Here’s a female Purple Finch at the Squirrel Buster, taken by the camera just moved from the deck. It’s a little dark, so we may have to relocate again.
1:00 AM – Blue Jay looking for the missing platform feeder. He’s not the only bird trying to find it.
Squirrel successfully attacks swinging feeder. Squirrels always win in the end. (Too bad about the poor quality of the video)
Cardinal and Goldfinch briefly share the swinging feeder.
1:00 AM – Blue Jay on the platform feeder. This is the only place the Jays feed, unlike the Cardinals and other birds.
The Brown Thrashers are around all the time these days, so we’re showing a lot more videos of them than before. We can’t tell if it’s just one, or a whole flock. If it’s more than one, they’re pretty much identical. If it’s just one, it’s the cleanest bird in the yard – he baths a couple of times a day, and for a long time.
Cardinal on the mealworm feeder:
1:00 AM – Unusual video of a female House Finch feeding a juvenile in the platform feeder.
Blue Jay eating on the platform feeder:
Another video of the Brown Thrasher bathing:
